Hi! I am just half a dozen years past the half century, and am getting younger by the hour...Malay Folklore: A Contemporary Retelling is my maiden effort, and it is about folklore from my part of the world viz. the Malay archipelago. But let's talk about me first:
Apart from my youth, I hold double degrees in economics and law, and have just completed an executive master program. am now looking at a doctoral program, and aim to complete it before the magical 'old age' of sixty.Boring stuff, this paper chase, but it keeps me un-old.
Old? don't know what it means and have yet to meet anyone who is old save for my derelict neighbours who actually have overextended their welcome and are staying around on borrowed time (strange they could get a loan at that age, but they are not old, so no issue there).
My book is about the great oral tradition of the Malay people, of which I am one: a brown-skinned race not much different from the Red Indians of America, except that we are still masters of our own land (north of Singapore, south of 'Nam), but not for long if stupid leaders squander away our children's future. Am not enamoured with politicians but have to accept them as ugly realities, much like the toads and tadpoles in the beautiful garden (but really, the latter are much prettier and less prone to unethical conduct).
'Nuff said for now. do engage me in the discussion on this page.
