My latest book, The Railway Photography of David Christie, was published in early 2026. David has been photographing Britain’s railways since 1962 and, with great skill and a keen eye, built an outstanding collection of colour slides. This volume brings together his finest work: over 170 images in full colour alongside 10,000 words of reminiscence and context spanning six decades. It was a privilege to select the photographs and I am delighted David approved the final choice.

My previous book, The Railway Photography of Bernard Brown, first published in 2020, has sold out twice and was reprinted in March 2026. It showcases remarkable images from the 1950s. Bernard, who kindly entrusted me with his negatives, sadly passed away in 2025, but his delight in the book remains a lasting tribute.

I have photographed trains since childhood, as well as writing books and articles.

Over the past twenty years, I have restored many historic images and together with a selection of my own work are now shared via my Railway Images UK website.

Before retirement I was a teacher of history and economics and eventually a deputy head. I owe much to the support and love of my late wife Marian who sadly passed in 2016.
