Gerty was born in beautiful Budapest, her roots are in Austria and Hungary, she has been a happy American and New Yorker "forever". "Use willpower, not pill-power!" is her constructive slogan! - She has, so far, published 13 novels in English, German, Dutch, Spanish, Hungarian, and one novel even in Japanese. She writes her books and plays in English and German. Gerty writes serious, highly dramatic books and plays as well as outlandish, wildly satirical novels and comedies. Most recently, her one act dramas “My Killer, My Kid” and “Tango” have won critical acclaim, produced in Manhattan with Sylvia Kovacs starring.

Gerty's one act dramas have been produced by more than 200 American and Canadian collage theatres, also, in South Africa and Japan. They had many productions in Hungary and the U.S.; right now, they are being played in Hungary, Transsylvania, and Slovakia. She has had a successful comedy series on Ch.13 and Ch.31. The author has translated many of Neil Simon's famous comedies, like "Sunshine Boys", "California Suite" and others, for Europe's German speaking stages, and they have been extremely successful.
