Gilbert Le Gras

Gilbert Le Gras (https://gilbertlegras.com/), MSc, MA, NSP, is a Senior Analyst at the Government of Canada’s Privy Council Office where he advises the Prime Minister’s staff on national security, emergency preparedness, defence and foreign relations. Prior to joining the public service in 2007, Gilbert was a foreign correspondent with Reuters, reporting on politics and economics out of 15 countries over the span of his 20-year career in journalism. Gilbert has worked at a half dozen federal departments and agencies. He worked on the GM (Canada) and Chrysler (Canada) financial assistance packages, the 2010 G8/G20 Summits, and the federal budgets for 2013, 2014, and 2015. Gilbert was also chief spokesperson and speechwriter for the Superintendent of Financial Institutions. In the nonfiction category, Gilbert is the author of The New New World: The Re-Emerging Markets in South America (ISBN-10: 1903684056; ISBN-13: 978-1903684054), published by Pearson Education in 2001.
