Adrian Latimer

Adrian Latimer was born in Calcutta, India in 1961, but was moved to UK in 1966. He only learned to fish by accident in the mid 1970's when visiting a great uncle for a family wedding as the family owned some fishing on the river at the bottom of the garden. In 1991 he moved to France where he works as a risk manager for a multinational in the oil business. Since then he has travelled all over the world, with fly rod in hand as often as possible. His passion for fishing of all forms has been transferred into writing, and all his books have been produced for charity, working closely with Orri Vigfusson of the North Atlantic Salmon Fund, and also with the Wild Trout Trust in the UK, and raising over 20,000 euros by 2010. Rather than tedious how to do it guidebooks, or ego-pumped stories of large fish caught, he prefers to try to capture the natural beauty of fishing, along with its emotions and, hopefully, its fun, as well as the history, geography and culture of the often unspoilt, wonderful places where such fish still thrive, especially Iceland and Argentina. He lives just outside Paris with wife and kids.
