Ali Cooper

I live in rural Devon where I am a singer/songwriter/guitarist and teach guitar, having moved down here for the solar eclipse and stayed. I have a degree in psychology (Sussex) and a masters in archaeology (Nottingham) and these subjects tend to crop up in my writing, whether fiction or non-fiction.

Fiction:

My latest novel, The Cat and the Cathedral (Book 1 of The Green Man Trilogy) is just published. It’s a traditional YA mystery/adventure, suitable for age 12 upwards (including adults!). Contemporary, with just a hint of paranormal, it’s set in real life locations in Exeter.

The Girl on the Swing is my debut novel. Set in Nottingham and Lyme Regis, it explores themes of past lives and regression, although it is not primarily a book about the paranormal.

My second novel, Cave, features scenes of underground exploration and draws on my own experiences of the sport. It is about friendships and relationships rather than disaster or terror!

Bloody Scared is a shorter book and is a humorous vampire spoof.

Non-fiction:

Editing a Better Book is my guide to all aspects of self-editing.

Archaeology Walks in the Peak District is published with Sigma (now part of Stobart Davies) is recently being published in a new edition.
