Peter Preston

Peter Preston is British and studied literature at the University of East Anglia. He made his career in books, becoming the managing editor of an internationally recognized literary publishers.

Peter Preston's first book, 'Corridor Dance' was initially published under the pen-name of Warwick David. Set in the medieval city of Durham in the north-east of England, it is a lyrical novella about university life in the 1960s. A new edition under his own name is due to be published shortly.

'Vertical Line', his second publication, is a book-length prose-poem set in its own landscape, which draws upon ideas concerning the abstract nature of the material universe.

'Hor' is both a novel and a book-length prose-poem. Based on the most sacred of ancient Egyptian texts, it tells the story of the journey of the sun-god, Re, through the Underworld towards the dawn. Woven into this central theme are the mysteries of the ancient mythology as recorded in such texts as the Book of the Dead and the Book of Caverns from the tomb of the pharaoh, Rameses VI.

Peter Preston lives in London and is working on a fourth book, provisionally entitled 'Ecstasy'.
