Dave Hammond

David Hammond, born 1959. A highly qualified Judo instructor and former editor of Judoka!, the magazine of the British Judo Council, David has been studying Judo since the early 1980s. A former sports journalist he was a regular contributor to the Times, the Sunday Times and the Sunday Herald. Writing on football and rugby his client list included FourfourTwo, Football Monthly and Rugby News as well as the Scottish Rugby Union.

David security experience runs from static and shop security to Close Protection for high profile individuals and vulnerable court witnesses. He has provided security for television sets, touring bands and musicians and has a wealth of experience working doors in London, Scotland and Yorkshire.

He has taught Judo across the UK and was Head Coach of Dundee University, where he was Student Coach of the Year in 2013. He gained his degree in psychology in 2014.

David now runs his own Security company, specialising in providing door supervisors, event security and close protection. He also runs courses on judo and conflict managment.
