Shawn D. Wright

Shawn D. Wright is Professor of Church History at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He holds a BA from Duke University, an MDiv from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and a PhD from Southern Seminary. As a historian he has published books and articles dealing with the history of the Calvinistic tradition.

Shawn also serves as one of the elders at Clifton Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky, where he oversees the pastoral internship, helps to raise up leaders within the church, and prepares men and women for cross-cultural ministry. Some of Shawn's published works dealing with aspects of ecclesiology flow out of this local church ministry.

Shawn and his wife Gretchen are the proud parents of five sons and five daughters-in-law and the grandparents of nine wonderful children. Shawn loves to watch soccer, as well as catch an occasional Duke basketball or New England Patriots game.
