Jaime Clark-Soles

Rev. Dr. Jaime Clark-Soles is Professor of New Testament and Altshuler Distinguished Teaching Professor at Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University. She received her B.A. from Stetson University focusing on both Philosophy and Russian Studies. She earned her M.Div. from Yale Divinity School and her Ph.D. in New Testament from Yale University.

Dr. Clark-Soles specializes in:

• Women in the Bible

• Psychedelics and Christianity

• Psychedelics, Religion, and Spirituality

She has written numerous essays and six books. Her most recent books are:

• Women in the Bible

• 1 Corinthians: Searching the Depths of God

She has two books in progress: Psychedelics and Soul Care: What Christians Need to Know (under contract with Eerdmans) and The Agony, the Ecstasy, and the Ordinary: Experiencing God in the New Testament.

Dr. Clark-Soles has served on the Journal of Biblical Literature editorial board and currently serves on the Journal of Disability and Religion editorial board. She has served on the steering committees of the “Ethics and Biblical Interpretation” and “Johannine Literature” sections of the Society of Biblical Literature.

Clark-Soles is a Field Scholar for the Emory Center for Psychedelics and Spirituality and an Affiliated Researcher with the PULSE project (Psychedelic Use, the Law, and Spiritual Experience) at the Harvard Law School Petrie-Flom Center for Health Law Policy, Biotechnology, and Bioethics. She is certified in Psychedelic Assisted Therapies and Research through the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS).

As an ordained minister, she has served in both congregational and hospice settings. She is a Navy brat and enjoys travel and triathlons. For more information, visit her personal website.
