Alexis Scott

Born in Derry, N. Ireland. Spent almost all her adult life in Scotland. Universities: Stirling (Sociology and Social Administration), Strathclyde (Law) and Edinburgh (Diploma in Legal Practice). Jobs have included social research, welfare rights, money advice. Trained and qualified as a solicitor. Lived in Derry, Stirling, London, Dundee, Glasgow, Peterborough, Livingston and Kirkcaldy. Shortlisted for inaugural Dundee Book Prize 2000 with unpublished 'Whitfield Times'. She has contributed to SCOLAG - the Journal of the Scottish Legal Action Group, the Times Educational Supplement Scotland, Mslexia, The Stinging Fly (Dublin's Literary magazine),'The Dynamics of Balsa' (New Writing Scotland 2007) and 'True Cat Tales (2010).
