James Penny

Born quite some time ago in a small town on the East coast of Scotland he has spent most of his life assiduously avoiding boredom.

A career spent soldiering for the most part, serving with the Black Watch and the SAS, but which also included a spell as an engineer in the Merchant Navy, Superintendent of a Salmon Fishery and a watercolour artist, helped greatly.

Seriously addicted to reading history and playing Scot's and Irish music in sessions at various hostelrys, he is now retired and still desperately evading boredom.

Hence the writing!
