David Snell

DAVID SNELL: Both of his parents were wartime pilots in the RAF and he and his brother, Peter, spent much of their childhood on RAF bases in the UK and the Far East, where the talk often revolved around the war and flying. Peter became a pilot but unfortunately died, aged 38, doing aerobatics in his own Second World War Harvard. David has spent a lifetime in the property/building industry and is a well-known writer and speaker on the subject of self-building. Without prejudice to his parents, the phrases The only good German is a dead one and The frogs are hopeless at fighting were a constant theme. But David always questioned these assumptions. He is a lifelong anti-war campaigner. His interests revolve around history and bird-watching. He has been married to Linda for 45 years and he has three children and three grandchildren.
