Jo Pratt is an award-winning food writer, cook, food stylist and presenter.
She creates inspirational modern recipes, all with achievable results for the home cook. She has a unique style, and has become known for producing fail-safe, accessible and great looking recipes. They are written with her distinctive friendly and chatty manner, offering useful/practical tips and ideas along the way. The results are impressive recipes that we can all enjoy – whatever our ability, whatever the occasion.
It’s these recipes that have seen her become a best – selling author with a number of awards under her belt too, and many of her books translated and sold in numerous countries around the world. Jo’s latest series of ‘flexible’ cookbooks have very much focused on offering flexible and practical recipe solutions that fit around the demands and challenges of modern life including dietary requirements or lifestyle choices.
When she’s not writing books, you’ll often find her presenting recipes online, on TV, in your favourite food magazines, on stage performing live cookery demonstrations and hosting workshops/cookery classes.
Jo’s cooking style initially evolved from working with hugely talented restaurant chefs (including the late Gary Rhodes, Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver and John Torode) making the most delicious food – and translating their ideas into recipes for the everyday kitchen.
Many British and global companies have chosen to work with Jo over the years as a brand ambassador or consultant on a variety of campaigns, including Flora, Jacob’s Creek, Threshers, James Villa Holidays, Betty Crocker, British Potatoes, Gaggia, Leisure Cookers, Panasonic, Tilda Rice and Warburtons.
Jo had a passion for food from a young age. She grew up near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire – a market town often referred to as the food capital of England and famous for their delicious Pork Pies. After completing a Ba (hons) degree in Home Economics at Liverpool John Moores University, Jo moved to London for work, which is now home to Jo along with her husband Phil and their two children Olly and Rosa (Jo’s harshest food critics!).
