Antony Wootten

Antony Wootten was a primary school teacher for 19 years. He was born in Berkshire in 1971. He has taught in a number of different schools, including several in London and one in Canada. He now lives in a tiny North Yorkshire village near Whitby, and runs a writers' group which meets every fortnight to share ideas and listen to each other's work.

Antony is available to visit primary schools and work with KS2 classes. More information can be found on his website here: www.antonywootten.co.uk (click 'Schools').

Antony has written four novels and a collection of limericks, all for the 9-12 age range. He loves writing about characters who face up to adversity and danger, and so his novels are moving and dramatic, often tackling emotive issues from real life, head-on. His limericks, however, are completely the opposite - they are funny, and very silly! Antony Has also written many books for educational publishers such as Oxford University Press, 2Simple and Butterfly Press.

When writing for adults, Antony usually uses the pen-name David Hall. Books he has written under this name include a collection of gripping short stories, 'And I Wish I'd Asked Why'.
