Background.

Rod has worked and trained in Shotokan Karate since 1975.

His first Karate Club was started in Chingford North East London in 1985 and is still active and successful today, together with many other clubs which have joined www.Shotokan-Karate-England.co.uk

Media.

Rod has written Karate articles for Magazines and Newspapers and helps the BBC when they are doing research for a Karate or Martial Arts program. His clubs were recently featured on BBC TV 'The One Show' with John Sergeant when the film 'Karate Kid' was released. Rod has also advised film producer Mike Leigh and been featured in his latest film which features Karate - 'A Running Jump'. Whiskas Cat Food also used Rod and his clubs for their latest internet advert 'Man lives like a cat'.

Author.

Rod's first book 'Keinosuke Enoeda ~ Tiger of Shotokan Karate'was published in 2005 and has been remarkably successful selling in Europe and the USA, and in other countries such as Iceland and New Zealand. Rod has also published another shorter book 'Shotokan Karate England - The first 25 years.' His latest book 'War Baby' is a personal account, a biography of life during and after the War, his time touring with The Honeycombs and his life in the world of Karate, together with some other very intimate, personal views and experiences.

Current Position.

Rod is now the Chief Instructor of Shotokan Karate England overseeing many Karate Clubs in London and the South of England.
