After serving ten years in the Royal Air Force as a radar technician I worked for the Royal Saudi Air Force, the Nigerian Air Force, the Libyan Air Defence, and the Omani Army before becoming an Aeronautical Telecommunications Engineer/Consultant. I worked in North and Central America, Europe, the Middle East, the Far East, and in a dozen African countries before retiring a short while ago.

I utilised my experience in the RAF to write PER ARDUA AD ULCERS and AFTER WORK THE PICTURES which have both received favourable reviews from both military and civilian readers.

My exploits in Saudi Arabia, Libya, Nigeria, and Zimbabwe are described in MY ART IS WHERE THE OHM IS as is, indeed, my brush with prostate cancer.

A DYING TRADE was based on the life of a dear departed friend and his often hilarious times as the proprietor of an old peoples' home.

My latest book, FREE, AND FREE TO DIE is about the disproportionate way the African animal AIDS disease affected the USA. Only less than 1% of US citizens own a passport and yet at the onset of the virus the number of affected Americans was ten times that of Europeans, thousands of whom visit Africa as businessmen and tourists every year. My first venture into the world of thriller writing was brought about by a conversation I was privy to whilst working in Uganda. My informant was convinced the AIDS virus started life in a US laboratory!
