John Litster

John Litster was born in Kirkcaldy but brought up and educated in Rutherglen and Glasgow. While working as an accountant, he started Programme Monthly & Football Collectable magazine in 1981, and a year later launched Scottish Football Historian magazine, which he continues to edit and publish four times a year.

He published several booklets on programme collecting and Scottish Football History, and in 1983 wrote Raith Rovers' Centenary History book. He was General Manager of St Johnstone Football Club between 1989 and 1993, and was a Director of Raith Rovers and represented the Fife FA on the Council of the Scottish Football Association in 1994 and 1995.

In 1999, he became a full-time writer, publisher and editor, and has produced several books on Scottish football history, and programme and football memorabilia collecting. In 2011, he passed Programme Monthly on to new owners and editors. His business, PM Publications, is now centred on his website www.pmfc.co.uk
