Stephen E. Parrish

Dr. Stephen E. Parrish has served as a faculty member and librarian at Concordia University Ann Arbor since 1999. He earned an A.A. in liberal arts from Schoolcraft College (1972); a B.S. in biology and chemistry from Eastern Michigan University (1975); an A.M.L.S. in library science from the University of Michigan (1978); and an M.A. (1984) and a Ph.D. (1991) in philosophy from Wayne State University.

Dr. Parrish teaches the philosophy classes at Concordia, including History and Problem of Western Philosophy, Christian Ethics, Christian World View, and Argument Analysis. Before coming to Concordia he taught and was the librarian at William Tyndale College. He has also taught philosophy part time at Wayne State University, Schoolcraft College, Oakland Community College, Wayne County Community College and Washtenaw Community College. At Concordia, he also serves as the collection management librarian, and is in charge of acquiring books and other materials for the Zimmerman Library.

Regarding publication, Dr. Parrish has co-authored two books. They are "The Mormon Concept of God: A Philosophical Analysis" and "See the gods Fall: Four Rivals to Christianity," as well as publishing "God and Necessity: A Defense of Classical Theism." He has also published several articles and book reviews, and has written another book, "The Metaphysics of Intelligibility," for which he is attempting to find a publisher.
