Ivor Baddiel

I grew up in Dollis Hill in North West London the eldest of three boys. After school I studied Psychology then worked as a social worker and a teacher before becoming a writer in my thirties. Initially I wrote for stand up comedians, then for magazines for a while before getting a job on a TV show. I’ve worked on many TV shows since then and also written books for both children and adults. In 2021 my first children’s fiction book came out, Britain’s Biggest Star…Is Dad? It’s a mystery/thriller that follows two children as they try to work out who is out to destroy a TV talent show, and why. My most recent book is Britain’s Smartest Kid…On Ice! It’s about a very clever boy who is bullied for being so clever, but then enters a TV quiz show in disguise. Once on the show he discovers there is some cheating going on and has to work out who is behind it without his real identity being revealed.
