Roy Bennett

Roy Bennett was born in 1944, and lived most of his early life on an estate in south London, England.

Roy was educated at Colfe’s Grammar School in London and, after leaving school, went on to study accountancy. Qualifying as an accountant in his late twenties, he went on to hold senior positions of finance in various private and public companies.

At the end of the eighties, he helped to set up and organise a branch of the Gingerbread charity, which provides advice, support and campaigns for single parent families, in the Weald of Kent. As a lone parent himself, he could easily relate to others in similar circumstances, and this empathy is quite apparent in his writing.

Now taking a more leisurely approach to life, his is able to spend more time writing - a pursuit which as been one of his main interests for as long as he can remember.
