James E. Cherry

James E Cherry's debut novel, Shadow of Light, was published by London: Serpent's Tail Press in 2008. His second novel, Edge of the Wind, from Stephen F. Austin State University Press (2016) and re-issued in 2022. His collection of short fiction, Still A Man and Other Stories (Willow Books, 2011) was re-released in 2020. He has written three full collections of poetry: Honoring the Ancestors (Third World Press, 2008), Loose Change (Stephen F Austin State University Press, 2013) and Between Chance and Mercy (Aquarius Press/Willow Books, 2024).Cherry has an MFA in creative writing from the University of Texas at El Paso (USA) and resides in Tennessee where he serves as president of The Griot Collective, a literary workshop and founder of The Jazz Foundation of West Tennessee.
