My passion is to share the wisdom of the Buddhist teachings in a clear, accessible and relevant way. Buddhism has brought me so much I believe it can help others like me find meaning and purpose in life, discover tools for working with our emotions and our minds, and open new perspectives on life and living. I write books, give courses and have a regular blog on Substack called The Softer Gaze. I also helped to create a site with resources for teaching Buddhism to children called Windows into Buddhism.

I have been practising Buddhism since my early twenties when I met many Tibetan lamas in London. Since then I have studied it at three universities in the UK and now have a Ph.D. in Buddhist philosophy. I taught Buddhism in UK schools at AS and A2 and wrote a textbook to meet the needs of this curriculum: Buddhism (Philip Alan Updates, 2005). I also edited two books by the Dalai Lama, The Four Noble Truths and Transforming the Mind (Thorsons). I am on Goodreads.
