Celia Conrad

Celia Conrad studied law at King's College, University of London, and after qualifying as a solicitor specialized in family law working for several 'magic circle' firms in London before leaving private practice to become a full-time writer on family law matters. The first edition of Fathers Matter was published in October 2003, the second edition in March 2007 and the third edition in March 2013. She is interested in all areas of Family law reform, but has a particular interest in the field of Child law.

She has appeared on television, given evidence on family law to Parliamentary Committees, regularly responds to Government Consultations and her comments on legal reform have been reported in the Press.

She is also the author of a legal crime trilogy Alicia Allen Investigates:

'The inspiration for my legal crime trilogy featuring a heroine who is an Anglo-Italian, Pringle-munching, crime-solving London solicitor with a dogged determination and a keen sense of justice grew out of my experience from working within the law, my love of Italy and, of course, Pringles!'

Celia always enjoys hearing from readers.

What readers and reviewers are saying about Celia's crime novels:

A MODEL MURDER: "Being able to make you feel like you had spent time with a character before a debut novel takes some writing talent. The author also showed off her skills in scene setting. I loved the seedy dirty atmosphere." CRIME BOOK CLUB

A MODEL MURDER "This one kept me up at night reading. It is a page turner & the characters came to life for me. I enjoyed the character delineation very much." AMAZON REVIEW

A MODEL MURDER: "Celia Conrad has jumped to the top of my favorite author list and Alicia Allen is without a doubt my favorite new fictional lawyer/investigator crime solver." READERS' FAVORITE

A MODEL MURDER: "That Conrad keeps all these balls in the air until the story's breathtaking and very scary conclusion is a testament to her marvelous instincts as a storyteller extraordinaire." MIDWEST BOOK REVIEW

WILFUL MURDER: "British author Celia Conrad has concocted a pastiche composed of the basic elements of a cozy-cerebral murder mystery that spins on disgruntled relatives, while reinventing it with elements that include travelogue, Greek Tragedy, Shakespeare and Love Story." AMAZON REVIEW

MURDER IN HAND: "This is a book I can recommend for Italophiles, Anglophiles, fans of Traditional British Mysteries, and fans of Cozy-Murder Mysteries." ITALOPHILE BOOK REVIEWS

MURDER IN HAND: "I see Alicia Allen as "the thinking woman's detective" who can take her rightful place with the relatively few that have gone before her in the rugged world of crime novels, Brava." AMAZON REVIEW

MURDER IN HAND: "Conrad hits her stride as a bona fide puzzle master. The plot line keeps readers guessing and the pages turning while the greatest pleasures lie in Conrad's refusal--or perhaps inability--to write for the lowest common denominator of brainpower. Instead she aims for the highest." MIDWEST BOOK REVIEW
