Writer of 30 non-fiction books on the supernatural, the strange, the Gothic and the gruesome, from 'The Jacobites and the Supernatural' and '101 Things to do with a Stone Circle' to 'Paranormal Perthshire' and 9 titles in 'The Guide to the Mysterious...' series, covering everywhere from the Lake District and Loch Ness to Glasgow and Aberdeen.

He's produced two highly-regarded books on poltergeists, and there are also books on hauntings, Scottish bodysnatchers, the bloody history of Edinburgh, historical murders - oh, he's a cheery chappie all right. His work encompasses folklore, archaeology, local history, parapsychology, Forteana and witchcraft, with a side order of gargoyles and graveyards.

The latest book is 'Zombies From History'. He's currently shadow-boxing with his first novel, a crime thriller set in southwest France. He likes dogs, cats and rock music, and thinks mayonnaise should be made a crime against humanity.
