Larry Amure

I qualified as doctor from Cambridge University and spent two years as a junior trainee in Eye Surgery.

I am currently working as a General Practitioner (Family Doctor).

I love writing and self published some years ago, managing to sell about 1300 copies through TESCO, Waterstones, Heffer's of Cambridge and Amazon. I was also helped by being interviewed on local BBC radio in Cambridge.

I have had four letters accepted for publication by The Times newspaper, and have had articles accepted for publication by medical journals.

I have been inspired by people I have read about and come across. I have met The Duke of Edinburgh on two occasions, and Charlton Heston visited a school I attended. He provided some lucky students with copies of the book 'Ben Hur'.

My favourite poet is Longfellow, and the quote ' the heights reached by great men and kept, was not reached in sudden flight. For they, whilst their companions slept, were toiling through the night'. This is from Ladder of St Augustine'
