I am a musician and songwriter and have written poetry and prose for many years.

I have three books of poetry out, the first ‘Illumination, Zen Satori & The Veiled Heart’, a second that contains my photography too, 'Echoes Of Brigantia', the title a nod to Ted Hughes, and 'The Wizard Of Light & Time' with a cover and title playfully referencing Marc Bolan's book of poetry - and containing a script with scenes from Bolan's life. All books feature both poetry & songs but only the third book contains prose (short stories & scripts/screenplays).

My book about Marc Bolan ‘Born To Boogie: the songwriting of Marc Bolan’ was a labour of love, and I am very thankful to Aureus books for their help in publishing it several years ago.

I have a surrealistic and absurdist sci-fi novel called Critical Mass available on Amazon as well as a fantasy story in the works.

My most recent book is published by Sonicbond and is 'On Track: David Bowie 1964-1982', covering Bowie's songwriting for that time period. A sequel, 'From Superstar to Blackstar 1983 - 2016 - David Bowie from Lets Dance to Lazarus' was also published in October 2024.

I am in a short film called 'Despectacled', an intellectual detective story that is about a semi-fictional band called The Borrowers, containing two song videos for the songs 'Spectacle' and 'Metamorphosis', - the film was directed and written by Joe Frost, a film editor of long standing. He directed the pop video of one of my songs on Youtube, 'Lost Songs Of Albion' and 'The Last Knight' about a crusader knight played by my son Eliot Ewens. We are currently working on a new short-form video 'Like Clouds Rest On The Sea', a nautical tale of love's recalcitrance.

Some of my music is available on Bandcamp etc under the name 'Psyfolk' - single tracks, EPs and albums - the most recent called 'Magic Eye', others being ‘Songs From A Phone’, ‘Tranquiliser’ and ‘Nightingales Code’…
