Benjamin Ford

Born in Portsmouth where he spent the majority of his life, Benjamin lived briefly in Worthing and then Dawlish, before moving to a small village near Dumfries in Scotland, where he currently lives with his husband and 2 dogs.

He is the author of the Gertrude Harrington Mysteries, an ongoing series of Cosy Crime novels set in England of the 1950s. Death on Swift Wings was published in 2016, followed by Murder by the Book, A Small Dose of De'Ath, Maid for Murder and Death on the Queen Mary. The next in the series, Death upon the Lonesome Wild, is currently scheduled for release in Autumn 2025.

A stand-alone Murder Mystery, Seven Steps to Murder, was published in 2017.

Benjamin is also the author of 5 novels that feature elements of the supernatural intertwined with myths & legends. They are: The Sawyl Gwilym Chronicles (Master of the Scrolls, The Master of Prophecy and The Master of Time); Portrait of Shade & The Five Tors.

Benjamin has always been an avid reader, and his favourite authors include Agatha Christie, Diana Gabaldon, Barbara Erskine, James Herbert, Patricia Cornwell, Kathy Reichs, JK Rowling, Enid Blyton, Jilly Cooper & Jackie Collins amongst others.

He has a love for history, and cites his favourite periods as the Tudors & Stuarts, and the 1940s & 50s. He also enjoys drawing and art.
