Prue Phillipson

Prue Phillipson was born in Newcastle upon Tyne and she and her sister were introduced to all the classics of English literature by their mother. Prue went on to study English Language and Literature at London University. Training as a teacher she taught full time for 4 years, meanwhile marrying Alan and gradually acquiring 5 children. She wrote stories all her childhood and took a creative writing course before her first child was born. She continued to write and sold stories and articles, winning several prizes for short stories. Years of caring for elderly relatives as the children grew up left little time for promoting the novels she was writing but she had a first success with a personal account of caring for her mother with dementia - Lesson of Love. She was approaching 70 when her novels were accepted by an electronic publisher e-bShop. She learnt to use a computer and also self-published in paperback 5 of her novels. It was after the millennium that she began writing historical novels and was accepted by Knox Robinson Publishers with whom she has had 6 novels published, 3 of them in 2014. Now 86 she and Alan have 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Much as she loves writing her family is her greatest joy.
