James Clarke

James Clarke is the writer of books about movies and pop culture, including BOND: PHOTOGRAPHED BY TERRY O'NEILL and BODIES IN HEROIC MOTION: THE CINEMA OF JAMES CAMERON.

As a scriptwriter and producer James has written and produced a range of short film documentaries for the British Council, and various media charities.

James has written the screenstory for the British short film CHASING COTARDS (2010). As a producer, James co-produced the BAFTA longlisted short film SPACE DANCE (2001) and worked for a decade in community media as a writer and producer. He recently directed and produced a short film adaptation of The Tempest for the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.

James has contributed content to THE WALLFLOWER PRESS CRITICAL GUIDE TO NORTH AMERICAN DIRECTORS , THE ROUGH GUIDE TO FILM and UNDER FIRE: A CENTURY OF WAR MOVIES. He has also contributed material to the book THE TEACHER'S ANIMATION TOOLKIT which is published in autumn 2011.

As a commentator on film, James has appeared on Channel 4 and Channel Five and on the BBC World Service.

James has written for a range of magazines including Resurgence, 3D World and Empire. He has taught at a number of institutions, including at the University of Warwick, the University of Sussex, the University of Gloucestershire, City College Brighton and Hereford College of Arts. James is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

James is currently developing several new writing projects.
