Michael Beebe

Michael Beebe, co-author with Maki Becker of The Bike Path Killer, is a reporter along with Ms. Becker at The Buffalo News. He covers crime and courts at The News, and has won a number of awards from the Associated Press, New York Newspaper Publishers Association and National Press Club. He covered the man then known only as the Bike Path Rapist, both as a reporter and as the running columnist at The Buffalo News. Once DNA tests and good shoe-leather investigation by a police task force identified Altemio Sanchez as the killer, he and Ms. Becker set out to chronicle the tale of his capture. Sanchez lived two lives for nearly 30 years, with not even his family, nor closest friends and neighbors aware of his violent other life.
