Tim Lewis

Tim Lewis has been working in PC BIOS for over 20 years. He started with Award Software back in 1987, when he was hired to do telemarketing for the LaserPress typesetting package. He was terrible at this job, but Award needed junior engineers and he had some experience programming 6502 assembly language, publishing a few articles in the Apple II enthusiast magazine Hardcore Computing. While working for Award, he finished his B.A. History (San Jose State University), M. Divinity (Western Seminary) and worked as a short-term missionary for a year in the Philippines.

After working for Award, he took a job as Director of System Software for PADSystems, a small notebook design house, where he worked on software, hardware and ASIC design for Zenith Data Systems, VLSI Technologies and others. After convincing PADSystem to move away from Phoenix Technologies' BIOS, he was hired by Phoenix, who subsequently purchased Award.

He now acts as a firmware architect for Phoenix and lives just outside of Folsom, CA with his wife and three kids.
