Paul Ainsworth

Paul K Ainsworth is an Education Consultant, Speaker and Author. Previously he was Education Director of Infinity AT, Director of Education of The Blessed Peter Snow CMAT, Director of Performance and Standards of St Therese of Lisieux CAT and Interim Executive Head of an 11-18 school. This follows his work within one of the countries largest MATs were he had a range of diverse roles including Regional Director, Lead for Professional Development, Head of the Teaching School, Academy Advisor and Academy Improvement Board Chair for eight schools. He has also been Chair of a MAT.

His two latest book, 'No Silver Bullets: Day in, Day out School Improvement' and ‘No Silver Bullets 2.0: Heart and Soul of School Improvement’ is inspired by his eleven years as a system leader.

Prior to this he was the Head of an 11-16 Secondary School and has been a senior leader in both state and independent schools.

He is fascinated by the rapid change that education has been through in the last decade and this inspires his writing which aims to help other educationalists improve their schools and their careers.

His first book, 'Developing a self-evaluating school: A practical guide' was published in 2010. Since then he has written, 'School Partnerships Handbook: A practical guide to making partnerships work', 'Get that Teaching Job', 'The senior leader's yearbook: A handbook for implementing outstanding school systems' and 'Tackling in-school variation: Strategies for raising achievement and narrowing gaps'.

He then drew upon his experience of developing leadership programmes and facilitation to write 'Middle Leadership' part of the Bloomsbury CPD Library.

He also published of 'Tears, Trophies and line calls: The guide for tennis parents' which draws upon his career in education and his passion for supporting his children's tennis.

He has spoken at numerous national conferences, on many podcasts and was thrilled to be asked to speak at the Pocklington TedX in 2015 (video available). Paul is also a Founding Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching.
