Richard Jenkins is a cartoonist, illustrator, author, and Master Teaching Artist. In the past 15 years, he has created multiple graphic novels, short stories, and one teacher's curriculum. Richard is passionate about creating stories with engaging characters, vivid settings, and strong emotional resonance.
Richard also teaches cartooning, story making, drawing, and painting. Since 1997, working throughout the United States as a teaching artist, he builds students' capacities for creating characters and story and for making visual art. Richard also provides Professional Development training for classroom educators, building their creative and pedagogical capacities. 2008 marked the publication on of his teacher's manual "Comics In Your Curriculum." And 2012 marked the beginning of his partnership with the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. There he provides professional development training for teachers.
Currently Richard is working on his latest graphic novel, "Toil," a murder mystery set in 1933 Utah.
