Mark A. McKibben

Mark McKibben was born in 1973 in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up as the only child of the family and shared his childhood years with lovable pets. An interesting and noteworthy accomplishment is his teen-year involvement in a science project that, in 1995, traveled into orbit aboard the space shuttle Discovery. He was, and remains, fascinated by how the universe works. This fascination prompted him to, upon graduation in 1991, attend the Honors Tutorial College at Ohio University to pursue a study of mathematics. He remained at Ohio University after completing his B.S. in 1994 and went on to earn his Ph.D. in mathematics from Ohio University in 1999 under the guidance of Dr. Sergiu Aizicovici.

He is currently a full professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Goucher College in Baltimore, MD. He has co-authored the book "Algebra," published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc., as well as several text supplements. He has published more than 25 research articles in national and international refereed journals during the past decade. He has been invited to deliver talks on the subjects of nonlinear evolution equations and stochastic evolution equations at numerous professional meetings, and continues to serve as a referee for more than 30 journals. His two most recent books, "Discovering Evolution Equations with Applications Volume 1: Deterministic Equations" and a corresponding "Volume 2: Stochastic Equations" were published by Chapman & Hall / CRC Press in July 2010 and June 2011, respectively.
