Shaun Snapp

Bio

Shaun Snapp is the Managing Editor of Brightwork Research & Analysis (formerly SCM Focus). Brightwork Research & Analysis is one of the few truly independent fact-checking web sites and research entities covering the IT space.

Primary Sources of Information and Writing Topics

Shaun normally writes about topics with which he has first-hand experience. These topics range from recovering problematic implementations to system configuration, to socializing complex software.

More broadly, he writes on topics supportive of these applications, which include master data parameter management, integration, analytics, simulation and bill of material management systems. He covers management aspects of enterprise software ranging from software policy to handling consulting partners on SAP projects.

Shaun writes from an implementer's perspective and as a result, he focuses on how software is actually used in practice rather than its hypothetical or “pure release note capabilities.” Unlike many authors in enterprise software who keep their distance from discussing the realities of software implementation, he writes both on the problems as well as the successes of his software use. This gives him a distinctive voice in the field.

Secondary Sources of Information

In addition to project experience, Shaun’s interest in academic literature is a secondary source of information for his books and articles. Intrigued with the historical perspective of supply chain planning software, much of his writing is influenced by his readings and research into how different categories of supply chain planning software developed, evolved and finally became broadly used over time.

Covering the Latest Software Developments

Shaun is focused on a broad variety of topics ranging from SAP to supply chain planning software selections and IT implementation improvement.
