Steve McCarthy

Stephen (Steve) McCarthy retired after 30 years teaching high school history and turned his hand to writing. His first release was "Road Trippin'" and is all about taking backroads, eating in Mom and Pop diners, staying in small motels, and generally driving the kind of road where they didn't bother to paint a center line. He added "Road Trippin'--The Isles", a tale of his trip around Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and England with his wife Marianne. From here, he really caught the writing bug and has scribbled an ongoing series of Spy Thrillers, begining with "The Old Farts' Spy Club" and recently, #10---"The Wurst Spy Club." Beginning in the 1970s, his characters have confronted The Bad Guys in the historical context of the times, right up to the Fall of the Berlin Wall. Not content with this genre, McCarthy has also turned his hand to writing Fantasy tales. "Caves of Destiny" and "Streams of Destiny" are available, and he's working on "Stones of Destiny." Other than that, he enjoys model railroads, playing with his grandkids, and generally enjoying retirement.
