A former Political Science professor and Senior Intelligence analyst, Daniel Lovelace spent most of his first two careers studying the USSR and China. In retirement his research and writing have focused upon 17th & 18th Century Anglo-American military history, and he has published articles on that subject in a variety of newspapers, periodicals, and websites. His interest in "historical counterintelligence" is the outgrowth of his involvement with several famous Cold War espionage cases. Although the TORY SPY was executed less than twenty miles from where the author's family farmed seventy-five acres for most of the 19th Century, the author is not directly related to Thomas Loveless or any of his five sons.
