Rowan Ricardo Phillips

Rowan Ricardo Phillips is a poet, essayist, and editor, and the author of four poetry collections—The Ground, Heaven, Living Weapon, and Silver—as well as the nonfiction book The Circuit: A Tennis Odyssey. His work has been longlisted for the National Book Award in Poetry, and his honors include a Guggenheim Fellowship and an Arts and Letters Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.

His forthcoming book, I Just Want Them to Remember Me: Black Baseball in America (Farrar, Straus and Giroux), is forthcoming. He is Presidential Professor and Distinguished Professor of English at Stony Brook University, poetry editor of The New Republic, and editor of the Princeton Series of Contemporary Poets. He lives in New York and Barcelona.
