Beverly Patt writes from her suburban Chicago home, where she lives with her high-school sweetheart husband, four kids, one dog and countless dust bunnies. She did not always want to be a writer. At age four, she wanted to be a dog when she grew up, so she could marry her dog, Gentle. Eventually realizing that wasn't going to work out, she switched her goal to become a vet...then a psychologist...then a special education teacher. Now retired from teaching, Bev spends her days writing, making soup and trying to play tennis (and only sometimes succeeding).
