I am a third generation Californian from a family of writers. My father, Bogart Rogers was a Hollywood screen writer and also wrote fiction and non-fiction stories for national magazines. My aunt, Adela Rogers St Johns, was the first woman sports writer and well known author of short stories for the Hearst newspapers. I have lived in Beverly Hills, San Diego, and Sacramento. I've backpacked extensively in the mountains of California and continue with regular day hikes around northern California. My four published books are A Yankee Ace in the RAF, a collaborative work published by the University Press of Kansas; The Mountain of Seven Gables, my first novel, set against a background of Northern California and the John Muir Trail from Yosemite to the summit of Mt Whitney; and Flying the Rim, 2nd Edition, a memoir about aerial prospecting for uranium with a sequel about flying to Alaska and other stories. The sequel to Flying the Rim is also published separately as an Amazon ebook. As a license commercial pilot I have flown my own plane around the lower 48 and into Canada and Alaska. I have written numerous articles for aviation, travel, and outdoor publications and local newspapers.
