Gerry Burke

Gerry Burke is an Australian humourist, the only son of an Irish immigrant, himself well versed in the art of blarney and tale telling. Gerry spent his formative years as an accountant for a mining company until he changed careers to become an award-winning copywriter with a number of international ad agencies.

The author has now produced seventeen volumes that are guaranteed to tickle your funny bone. Gerry's alter-ego Paddy Pest is a bumbling Aussie crime-fighter in the mould of Maxwell Smart, only twice as funny. In-between his short-story collections, Burke has penned a number of novels in different genres - historical, science fiction and crime. A perennial finalist in multiple writing competitions, his office wall boasts 5 Best Book Awards, 7 Book Excellence Awards, 3 American Fiction Awards, 2 Pinnacle Achievement Awards, 1 Da Vinci Award,1 Independent Publisher Bronze Medal and I Best Thriller Award in 2024. In 2026, his book DOUBLE received an Independent Press Award prior to publication.

The author likes to paint himself as a lovable rogue and there are any number of lovable lasses who can attest to his charm. Nevertheless, Gerry remains a bachelor and lives in Melbourne, Australia, the world's most liveable city for seven years running. An avid couch potato, he follows all the Aussie sporting teams with great enthusiasm and has even more passion for the Sport of Kings. The supreme optimist has raced over twenty thoroughbreds.
