Baylissa Frederick holds a master’s degree in Integrative Counselling. Since 2006 she has supported thousands of individuals and families from all over the world, affected by antidepressant and benzodiazepine induced neurological dysfunction and withdrawal. Comprehensive resources are offered through her Mindful, Compassion-Based Care website. She has provided training to counsellors and has delivered motivational speeches and workshops on the subject. She has been interviewed and quoted by newspapers and journals including The London Times, The Independent and British Medical Association News. Baylissa is a contributing writer to the UK's Guidance for Psychological Therapists. She is also the author of With Hope in My Heart: A Memoir.
Baylissa was prescribed the anticonvulsant, clonazepam, for a form of dystonia (involuntary movement disorder) and survived an intense withdrawal experience when coming off it. She is now recovered and derives her greatest fulfilment from encouraging and reassuring others.
