I live with my husband in Cobham, Surrey, about 20 miles west of London. We have 4 children, all of whom are married. As well as writing, my interests include Mothers’ Union, which is a worldwide Anglican organisation, and other church activities; playing guitar and singing, walking, travel, reading, gardening and the family. I have 6 grandchildren, of whom the youngest is 1 year old. Although ‘The Mysterious Beach Hut’ is my first full-length novel, I also enjoy writing short stories and poetry and I have been writing articles for many years for church publications.I loved writing The Mysterious Beach Hut, which at some point began to write itself - it was exciting just to see what was going to happen next!

The subject of time has always held a fascination for me and this, added to the fact that our daughter and her family live in Brighton and own a beach hut, has provided part of the inspiration behind the story of my book. The action touches on actual historical events, and I have made a point of ensuring that all these are accurate.

I work part time as PA for my husband’s firm of chartered accountants and I am company secretary to my son’s company.
