Peter Bellini was born in Little Italy, Cleveland, Ohio. He has a BA in English from the Ohio State University. He has a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary with a focus on Historical Theology. He is working on an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Indiana Wesleyan University. He also has a Ph.D. from Asbury Theological Seminary in Intercultural Studies with a dual major in History and Theology of Mission and Evangelization and an area study in Urban North America. Following his Ph.D., Dr. Bellini has also studied Neuroscience at Harvard University.
Dr. Bellini is an ordained Elder in the Global Methodist Church. He is also an itinerant revivalist and deliverance minister. Dr. B is Professor of Church Renewal and Evangelization in the Heisel Chair at United Theological Seminary.
Dr. Bellini is an interdisciplinary theologian, working at the intersection of the sciences, philosophy, and theology. His theological interests are in Trinitarian theology and applied pneumatology in practical areas, such as holiness, prayer, healing and mental health, deliverance, discipleship, and leadership development. These themes are also informed by his secondary work in participatory ontology and epistemology, neurophilosophy, the social and behavioral sciences, theoretical physics, and the neurosciences.
He also researches and writes in the theology, history and practices of renewal movements, specifically Methodism, the Holiness movement, the Pentecostal-Charismatic movement and the Global Renewalist movement of today. His interest in church renewal is the person and work of the Holy Spirit. His foci in evangelization are power evangelism (deliverance and healing) and discipleship. Dr. Bellini is one of the foremost authorities on deliverance in the world.
Pete is married with two adult children and a granddaughter. In his spare time, he is a recreational heavyweight boxer and powerlifter. He trains fighters and owns his own gym - Big Bang Southside Boxing Club. Dr. Bellini is also an avid Roberto Clemente aficionado.
