Increasing the understanding and practice of manual therapy has been a passion of James’ since he first started practicing bodywork over 30 years ago. James teaches a range of courses across the UK and Europe as a director of Born to Move and is also a regular lecturer at conferences and workshops around the world. Renowned for his relaxed and humorous style, James is a popular presenter whose subject is applicable for a wide-ranging audience that includes osteopaths, physiotherapists, massage therapists and movement therapists.

Following three years of research James has recently updated ‘Born to Walk’, with more science and greater accuracy to demonstrate how myofascia and the skeleton relate to walking. The book gives a full 3-dimensional understanding of the interaction of forces through the human body and uses comparative anatomy to explain how and why the genus homo may have developed bipedalism.

In his spare time, James enjoys exploring the sights and sounds of London on foot.
