Passionate about plastics!

While plastics are deservedly receiving very bad press due to the way we have consumed and disposed of them, plastics are also a key material choice required to solve our future environmental problems - if we use them both responsibly and with disposal in mind when we design, manufacture and use.

I began work in a plastics laboratory at 16 years of age and was instantly hooked by these fascinating materials. Little did I know then, I was embarking on a career entirely focused on plastics materials, manufacture and their recycling.

Fast forward over thirty-five years and I am now one of the UK's foremost plastic engineering experts working with both academia and industry. My books are used in industry and universities across the world alike. However, the more I continue to learn the more I realise what we still don't know about these materials, this will never change. There is still plenty of research to keep us all busy and to continually challenge what we think we know.

The topic and focus of further books are currently in development as there are so many interesting things to write about plastics.

I have also provided book chapters and co-authored book chapters to other collected works that are available.

I currently working as an Associate Professor (Principal Research Fellow) for WMG, University of Warwick on a variety of plastic related research and development projects.
