Bob Greenlee

I've been in the broadcasting industry for over 50 years. I love to read about the fascinating history and development of this important and vital industry. I also love "unsung" heros and certainly John Logie Baird is one of those remarkably talented people. Although his name is virtually unknown to most Americans, it was Baird who perfected the world's first working television system. He accomplished this in 1924 and publicly demonstrated his system in 1925. He is also responsible for developing a working color television system along with stereoscopic telecasting. Along the way he went down a number of unusual commercial and entrepreneurial paths. This is a man whose name you, and many others, have likely never heard before. The story of this remarkable man and all he accomplished in his short 58 years of life deserves to be told.
