I have always been a traveller... at a very early age we moved to the then Rhodesia, living on a farm in the middle of 100 acres of bush made me accept the land and the cultures it held. I have lived and worked in South Africa, Scotland, Greece, Spain, Wales... And visited or worked temporarily in many others. Always I want to learn at least a few words (one week in Zagreb was a challenge) and try to understand the unique character of the country and community in which I find myself. I am a Theatre Designer, have worked on Feature Films, made reproduction antique furniture and fenced the glens of Scotland and many other things... This book came out of these experiences in a way...

Since 2000 Duncan Gough has been making an annual motorbike trip to Spain, 'Back Roads of Spain' tells of the first ten years journeys, experiences and feelings taking the back roads whenever possible, finding the unexpected and the unforeseen. The book is in full colour and includes over a hundred maps, photos and sketches.

'Sketches of Spain' is his own personal guide to the richness of Spain from 17 years of motorbike travel and more than 30 years of visiting Spain. With many hand drawn maps, photos and sketches covering Spain from Santander to Sevilla.
