Joseph W. McKean

Dr. McKean is a professor of Statistics at Western Michigan

University. He has published many papers on robust nonparametric

procedures for linear, nonlinear, mixed models, and time series

designs. These include

papers on the theory for robust estimation and testing,

the geometry of robust inference, diagnostic methods, computational

algorithms and the small sample properties of

robust inference. He has worked with highly efficient and

high breakdown procedures.

He has published three books in Statistics, including the

monograph Robust Nonparametric Statistical Methods with

T.P. Hetmmansperger and the text Introduction to Mathematical

Statistics with R.V. Hogg and A.T. Craig. He was elected

Distinguished Faculty Scholar at Western Michigan University

and is a Fellow of the ASA.
